Attendees: Doug Lohmeier, John Ranz, Bill Puthoff, Chief Korte, Chief Cruse, Susan Van Amerongen, Mike Hauck, Jack Cameron
I. Police
a- Call in procedure for emergency services
Chief Korte verified the Police are to call Kay Oaks as soon as the roads become slick. Mr. Lohmeier asked why and was told that is the directive from the Service Director.
b. Chief Korte brought up an issue with the way Seniority is currently defined in personnel manual. Recommended it be addressed. The committee concurred to redefining the definition to clarify seniority to specific rank.
c. Sergeants promotions have been delayed because the written test has not been reviewed and updated.
d. Chief Korte has recommended Council continue to move forward with the hiring of a replacement officer with concurrence of the committee.
II. Fire
a. Chief Cruse & M. Hauck brought to the committees attention that after attending a seminar on Fire Code legality the Village may want to consider changing from the International Fire Code to the State of Ohio Fire Code. Committee concurred with the review of the Solicitor. Solicitor Burke has recommended we wait until the 2010 revisions com out in June.
III. Other Items
a- Tractor purchase agreement for Gorman Farm
a. Susan informed us that the large tractor was not being purchased and a smaller version was being looked at since the current Village agreement did not go past 2011.
b- Tuition reimbursement policy
No discussion, Solicitor did not finish report for council. Tabled until February.
